Background
This project originated from my current full-time workplace, where SHAFIQ, a crowdfunding service provider that issues shares, sought to implement a secondary market program. Since its establishment in 2020, SHAFIQ had not yet introduced a secondary market. Consequently, developing this new feature required a learning process for me to understand the schemes and workflows from both business and user perspectives. The design process started from scratch, covering both user and admin dashboard interfaces.
Challenges
As this was SHAFIQ’s first venture into creating a secondary market, it required a comprehensive understanding of the relevant business models and user workflows. The project involved designing the feature from the ground up, including the user interface and the admin dashboard, ensuring the new feature was intuitive and user-friendly for all stakeholders. Additionally, developing a robust and efficient admin dashboard to manage the new secondary market feature effectively was a significant challenge.
Goals
- Understand Secondary Market Workflows
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the business models and user workflows related to secondary markets. - User-Centric Design
Develop an intuitive and user-friendly interface for both users and administrators. - Efficient Admin Dashboard
Create a robust admin dashboard to effectively manage the new secondary market feature. - Seamless Integration
Ensure the new secondary market feature integrates smoothly with existing SHAFIQ systems. - User Adoption and Satisfaction
Facilitate user adoption and ensure high levels of user satisfaction with the new feature.
Key Takeaways
The secondary market is highly segmented, so it’s no surprise the traffic wasn’t substantial, especially during this first season when our startup had only one stock available and the season was open for just 10 working days. However, from both user and admin perspectives, there were no significant issues. Despite this, there is plenty of room for improvement in preparation for the upcoming season next year.
